Emma Thompson in Uganda (14 Feb 2002)

Oscar winning British actress Emma Thompson was in Uganda on a visit as a Goodwill Ambassador for Action Aid.
She appeared on the Smoke Free Eye-opener, a popular morning radio talk show to discuss her work on AIDS control in Uganda. The Eye-opener talk show hosts (Ben, Susan and Angelo), are ardent tobacco control activists and asked Emma her position on smoking.

Emma replied by saying that her father died of tobacco related illness at the age of 52 and in most apt fashion for Valentine's Day said, "Love yourself stop smoking. Love each other use a condom"

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute,

Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." Proverbs 31: 8-9
